Where art thou minion?

So me and Danish finally got around to making our Despicable Me Minion goggles. We are using them for our halloween costumes, which I will be updating as we go. Im sooooo EXCITED to finally wear them.
We used 2" pvc, vinyl bumpers, wire to connect the two and make them flexible, epoxy, crazy glue, some rust stop oil based paint, straps, and some strap adjustors, sand paper, weather stripping (so it doesnt hurt our faces). Every single item that I used here was found in a local mom and pop hardware store.I would really like to ad some lenses that would make my eyes look huge, but I have not found anything that I could see through. =(
The minions have a silver clasp on the side of them (what they would use to tighten them) so I just put come quick connectors on the side of them.
I guess we did a pretty good job ad them seeing that I look preeetyyyy rediculous wearing them. The two "googles" are supposed to be connected, but seeing as I have a nose, thats kinda impossible.

  1. Wow a lot of effort going into this costume and it looks great, nice job! Will you be making a Zelda or Sheik one next? I can imagine photos of both together would be great attention for your blog, particularly if u displayed them at a cosplay event and gave out your blog address on business cards...

That reminds me, I need to get business cards.
I will hopefully be attending supercon and megacon in florida next year.
    Thank you very much!

  6. Hello!

I emailed you at tikicrafts@yahoo.com about a week ago, but haven't heard back yet...

My name is Jessica, I am the competition team director at
a dance studio in San Jose, Ca. This year my Hip-hop comp team
is performing a piece called "Despicable", based on the movie
Despicable Me. I have 3 minions... a 7 yr. old, 8 yr. old, and 11 yr.
old. I would like them to have goggles, 2 pairs with two eyes... and
one pair for the 7 yr. old with the one big eye. I saw your goggles
for halloween and they are brilliant!!! Would you be willing to make 3
pairs (at $20 a piece... i think is what it said you charge)? Their
first comp is Friday, March 1st... so I would need them asap!

Thank you so much! Please let me know either way!

  8. Could you do a tutorial that you sell for like 5 dollars? I want to make them for my sons Halloween costume and I don't understand how you attached the straps and the rubber part that was against your face. Thanks for your help!
